Aviato Academy and ECS launch cutting-edge safety training at Brussels Airport

Aviato Academy, a subsidiary of Brussels Airport Company and a leading training provider in Belgium’s aviation sector, has entered in a strategic partnership with ECS, a specialist in integrated safety training. Together, they will now offer high-quality safety courses for (future) Brussels Airport employees at a central location at the airport. These training programs aim to further strengthen safety competencies within the aviation industry.

Aiming to become the top knowledge hub in aviation, Aviato Academy is based at Brussels Airport, at the center of an ecosystem that includes 335 companies across 18 sectors, employing no less than 30,000 people.

Its Aviation Talent Hub, currently under construction, will bring together all training programs under one roof, establishing a central hub for lifelong learning at the airport. By developing this facility, Aviato Academy aims to attract top-tier training partners like ECS, creating valuable partnerships.

Preferred partner for safety

Safety begins with developing and strengthening essential skills and knowledge, and this partnership aims to support that goal. ECS, a leader in integrated safety solutions for both the nuclear and conventional industries, operates on a national and international level. Leveraging its expertise, ECS helps companies optimise their safety protocols. Over 50 ECS employees deliver more than 100 distinct safety training courses to 28,000 individuals annually in Belgium! Through this collaboration, a comprehensive range of safety training courses is offered, covering topics like operating a forklift, working with an overhead crane, attaching loads, SHE checklist for contractors, BA4, BA5, and more.

Together, Aviato Academy and ECS combine their knowledge and expertise to provide the best safety training available, ensuring professionals are fully prepared for their task in the aviation sector.

A comprehensive range of training courses in a single unique location

ECS is thrilled with this partnership and the opening of its sixth location, in collaboration with Aviato Academy.

A dedicated hall in the Aviation Talent Hub is specifically equipped for hands-on safety training. As with all courses offered by Aviato Academy, there is a strong emphasis on practical experience alongside theoretical learning, enabling participants to develop and practice essential skills.

Conveniently situated at the heart of Brussels Airport, the Aviation Talent Hub is easily accessible by public transport, with direct connections to both the passenger terminal and cargo area of Brussels Airport.

Isabelle Borli, General Manager Aviato Academy: “Safety is fundamental to all operations at Brussels Airport, making it essential to have a reliable partner for training airport staff. Our collaboration with ECS fulfills this need. Since June, ECS has been operating in the Aviation Talent Hub, providing a diverse array of safety training courses. I firmly believe that having these training programs available on-site at the airport provides added value to the entire Brussels Airport ecosystem.”

Kris Michiels, Department Manager ECS: “Our partnership with Aviato Academy aligns seamlessly with ECS’s vision and strategy, which emphasizes safety through training, experience, and enhancing safety awareness among employees at the airport and all other surrounding businesses. With this new location, Brussels is no longer a blind spot for ECS; we now have a presence across Belgium. At the Aviation Talent Hub, we feature a 350 m² hall for practical training, four classrooms accommodating 20 trainees each for theoretical instruction and a reception area.”
